Pacific Organic Produce, San Francisco, which markets under the Purity Organic brand, has hired Mike Rubidoux as sales manager.
He’ll oversee the company’s sales support, commodity manager and quality control teams and handle account base sales, according to a news release.
Rubidoux’s fresh produce career started in 1986 as a vice president of sales and marketing and commodity manager for Lee Brands (asparagus)/NewStar, where he was for 18 years. He joined Amerifresh in Yakima, Wash., as Northwest Division manager in 2006, followed by sales manager at Sage Fruit in Yakima. He became director of sales and marketing at Norcal Nursery, senior sales account executive at Sun Pacific Marketing, sales manager at Harvest Sensations and most recently general manager at Crystal Valley Foods.
“I look forward to helping Pacific Organic build on its position and reputation as an industry leader in supplying high quality organic fruits and vegetables,” Rubidoux said in the release. “I plan on continuing to champion food safety as well as opportunities to increase offerings of quality produce to meet the ever-increasing demand for organic products.”
The company plans to add more sales representatives to the 10 currently on staff, with two senior and one junior team member positions available, along with one support team member position, according to the release.
