Oxnard, Calif.-based Mission Produce Inc. has expanded its avocados best practices guide for foodservice.
New pages have been added to the company’s AvocaDOs and DON’TS guide that address size interchangeability, said Julianna St. Geme, associate marketing manager.
“This allows operators to predict the yield for different avocado sizes, making it easier to order by size based on availability,” she said.
“It shows exact yields for each size of avocado for sliced, diced and cubed fruit.”
Foodservice operators rely on avocados as a key part of their menus, so Mission is doing what it can to keep them center plate, she said.
The expanded guide will be shown at PMA’s Foodservice Conference and Expo in July.
