Mission Produce Inc., Oxnard, Calif., is expanding its sales staff, creating a business development sector, hiring senior director of sales and increasing its foodservice division.

Stephen Fink is returning to the avocado marketer as senior director of sales. He first joined Mission Produce in July 2012, with various including replenishment analyst, senior replenishment analyst, sales representative and director of sales planning. Fink left Mission Produce in December 2017 to be avocado category manager at LGS Specialty Sales Ltd., a position he had for about a year.

Fink will be responsible for providing pricing guidance, reviewing forecast numbers and working closely with national retail accounts, according to the release.

“This opportunity was right for my return,” Fink said in the release. “I am fortunate to join Mission Produce as the sales team develops to meet industry needs.”

Brent Scattini, Mission Produce’s former vice president of sales and marketing for North America, recently joined Seven Seas as vice president-West Coast.

“We expanded and restructured our sales team to better serve our customer base,” Ross Wileman, senior vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release. “Mission Produce added foodservice sales staff and created a business development sector under the supervision of Patrick Cortes.”

Cortes will continue to build and maintain relationships with North American customers. He started in the industry at Gourmet Trading Co., where he was export manager when he left in July 2015, joining Mission Produce as sales manager. He has also been senior director of sales at the company.

“All of these changes helped strengthen our sales pipeline. I am excited to watch Mission Produce experience an even greater level of success in response to these strategic organizational changes,” Wileman said in the release.
