NEW YORK — Nathel & Nathel is promoting easy-peelers branded as Kishu Kisses.

The company displayed the citrus, dubbed “California Citrus Candy,” at the New York Produce Show and Conference. The show was Dec. 10-13.

Frank Cilurso, director of sales at the wholesaler, broker and exporter at the Hunts Point Produce Market, Bronx, N.Y., said the company started marketing the citrus in late November.

“It’s a trend for kids. They try to come up with creative names. We taste everything, and it has to eat good before we carry it. These are really sweet,” Cilurso says.
