Nature Fresh Farms, Leamington, Ontario, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a new benefit for its workers.

At a Nov. 8 party at one of the company’s facilities, 270 employees gathered to celebrate the milestone, according to a news release. General Manager John Keller and CEO Peter Quiring thanked the employees and announced a new employee Group Retirement Plan.

“The twentieth anniversary celebration gave us the perfect opportunity to express our appreciation to our employees by announcing the extension of their current benefits plan which now includes the Group Retirement Plan,” Ketler said in the release. “Nature Fresh Farms most valuable asset is its employees and we want to help provide for our amazing team.”

Nature Fresh has evolved from a “buy and sell project” in 1999 to a year-round greenhouse grower with 200 acres, according to the release. It recently opened a 32-acre expansion and has taken sustainable steps, including packing cucumbers in compostable trays.
