Growers Jerome and Diane Vick were recently honored by the North Carolina SweetPotato Commission for their contributions to the state’s industry.

The Vicks started growing sweet potatoes in 1975, according to a news release, and Wilson, N.C.-based Vick Family Farms is now a grower, packer and international shipper. 

The Vicks were honored Jan. 26 in Wilson at the the 58th annual meeting of the sweet potato commission, according to the release. 

Every year the commission honors a member who has contributed to the state’s industry through hard work, dedication and distinguished service, according to the release.
