The New England Produce Council has rescheduled its 24th annual golf tournament to Oct. 6.

The venue, Indian Pond Country Club, Kingston, Mass., is the same, according to a news release. The event originally was July 21.

The state of Massachusetts is heading in the right direction with fewer cases of the coronavirus, according to the release, but board members said they believe that rescheduling is in the best interest of the members.

“We look forward to Oct.6, when we can hopefully be together,” council president Anthony Sattler said in the release.

The money raised every year from the tournament is used for the council’s scholarship fund.
