New York apples are entering the home stretch and conditions are near perfect, one marketer reports.

“As usual, our traditional fall cool nights and sunny October days will finish this crop off beautifully,” Matt Wells, director of field services for New York Apple Sales, Glenmont, N.Y., said a news release.

Once the calendar turned to June, growing conditions favored apple crop development in regions from the Eastern Hudson Valley, north to the Canadian border and west to Niagara Falls, Jim Allen, vice president of marketing for New York Apple Sales, said in the release.

Last year, an extended drought hurt apple output, but Allen said in the release that moisture has been apple this year.

Hudson Valley harvest of wildfire gala was starting for New York Apple Sales, Allen said in the release.

“As marketers, New York Apple Sales is ready and excited about our new crop, and as a grower and packing partner, I am thrilled at the level of quality we are seeing so far,” Kaari Standard, president of New York Apples Sales, said in the release.
