Running from Jan. 1 to Feb. 28, the New York Apple Association is again hosting the New York Big Apple Salad Contest.
The consumer contest asks participants to eat at least one salad a day that includes a New York apple and to share images and recipe details with the New York Apple Association to win one of three $500 gift cards, according to a news release.
Point-of-sale signage for retailers is available by calling the association at (585) 924-2171, according to the release.
“Whatever your health goal — eating cleaner, feeling better, losing weight — salads are a deliciously easy way to eat better without sacrificing flavor or satisfaction,” New York Apple Association president Cynthia Haskins said in the release. “Apples add crunch, texture and flavor — as well as nutrients and fiber-related fullness — to any salad. Plus, apple cider and cider vinegar make great salad dressings!”
Contest details and updates will be posted on the group’s website, www.applesfromny.com.
