Bridges Produce hires for logistics

Tyler Camp has joined Portland, Ore.-based Bridges Produce to work in inventory management and logistics, said Ben Johnson, president.

It’s Camp’s first job in the produce industry. He came to Bridges from Providence Health & Services in Portland, where he was worked in inventory control.

Pear Bureau Northwest adds marketing manager

The Milwaukie, Ore.-based Pear Bureau Northwest has hired Bryan Roberts as marketing manager for the Midwest/Southwest region, said Kevin Moffitt, the organization’s president and CEO.

Roberts, who had been director of produce for the Save-A-Lot retail chain in the St. Louis area since February 2016 and had been with Save-A-Lot there since 1996, joined Pear Bureau Northwest this summer, replacing Ed Chambers, a 34-year veteran with the organization.

“Bryan’s retail experience buying experience from Save-A-Lot makes him a great fit when talking to other retailers about how to expand the pear category,” Moffitt said.

Western Ag Improvement hires crop consultant

Jeff Heater, board member with Odell, Ore.-based Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers, is now a crop consultant with Hood River, Ore.-based chemical distributor Western Ag Improvement LLC.

Heater had been a field consultant for Underwood Fruit & Warehouse LLC, a packer-shipper in White Salmon, Wash., for 29 years.

“I write spray and fertilizer recommendations in Oregon and Washington,” he said.

Heater said he started his new position Jan. 1.

“After having a really difficult cherry season last year, a guy came along and made me an offer I just couldn’t turn down,” he said.
