About 50 growers in California’s Ojai Valley in Ventura County have begun harvest pixie tangerines.

World Variety Produce, through the Melissa’s Produce brand, is offering the tangerine, which is testing at 17.5 to 18.3 brix, compared to an average brix of 11.5 for average tangerine brix, according to a news release.

Melissa’s is promoting the Ojai pixies tangerines as a way to boost vitamin C during the COVID-19 crisis, especially as a snack for children.
