Organic banana grower-shipper One Banana has begun using Information Repository and Intelligence Server, or IRIS, a traceability technology from Frequentz Inc.
The partnership between Palo Alto, Calif.-based Frequentz and One Banana, whose parent company is AgroAmerica, aims to secure supply chain visibility and assure responsible and sustainable production.
"Product integrity and consumer safety are key priorities for AgroAmerica," Ingrid Lopez, logistics director for One Banana, said in a news release. "Leveraging Frequentz"s traceability software delivers the transparency we need in order to confirm that both our produce and procedures continue to meet the highest level of standards."
Frequentz"s GS1 compliant technology tracks and analyzes historical data and handles operational queries from supply partners. It cuts repetitive data gathering, according to the company, and provides records and reporting on specific crops, irrigation, soil testing and other topics. The technology can identify potential sources of contamination or assist in monitoring cold chain or temperature controlled logistics.
Frequentz has clients in multiple industries.
