Members of the Peruvian Asparagus Importers Association have re-elected Jay Rodriguez and Walter Yager as co-chairmen of the group.

Rodriguez is owner of Crystal Valley Foods, Miami, and Yager is CEO of Alpine Fresh, Doral, Fla. They were elected at an association meeting in October in Anaheim, Calif., and will serve through 2021, according to a news release.

“These two gentlemen have close to a combined 60-plus years’ experience within the international trade/agricultural sector,” Priscilla Lleras-Bush, director of the Peruvian Asparagus Importers Association, said in the release. “Their knowledge provides our asparagus association with the foresight that will propel the entire asparagus industry forward.”

There are 34 members in the association: 23 importers and 11 industry service providers.

“PAIA companies believe in membership synergy, and they understand that synergy is the single component stimulus for the association to obtain industry goals,” Yager said in the release.
