The Produce Marketing Association is seeking nominations for the PMA 2019 Science & Technology Circle of Excellence award.
It’s the third year for the award program, created by PMA in 2017 to recognize leaders who help solve business challenges with science and technology, according to a news release. Nominations are due March 22, and the award will be given during PMA Tech Knowledge, May 1-2 in Monterey, Calif.
“Science and technology are uniquely positioned to help our industry solve a broad range of business challenges,” Vonnie Estes, PMA vice president of technology, said in the release. “The goal of this award program is to recognize those game changers.”
The award is designed to bring attention to the need for industry innovation.
“Innovation begets more innovation, that’s why we call it the Circle of Excellence award,” Estes said in the release.
Nominees don’t have to be PMA members, and companies can nominate themselves; there are no fees to enter. Nominations must fall into the STEM disciplines — science, technology, engineering and/or math, according to the release.
