Progressive Produce, Los Angeles, has hired Dominic DeFranco as vice president of sales.

He has more than 30 years of experience in Southern California’s produce industry, and most recently was senior sales manager at Fresh Del Monte, according to a news release. He began working in the industry at his family’s company, D. DeFranco & Sons.

After graduating from California State University-Fullerton, he joined Tam Produce in operations, and had roles in foodservice and sales at the company.

As vice president of sales at Progressive, DeFranco will manage its Tradition+ division, which includes potatoes and onions.

“Dominic is a difference-maker and has already hit the ground running and made a positive impact in our business in the short time he’s been with us,” Scott Leimkuhler, senior vice president of sales, said in the release. “I’m looking forward to what we can do together for many years to come.”
