Yakima, Wash.-based Proprietary Variety Management has added Jill Burbery to its marketing staff as marketing project manager.

Burbery has 25 years of experience in the produce industry and has specialized in worldwide sales and marketing of Washington state tree fruit, according to a news release.

She has a bachelor of science degree from Eastern Washington University in food and nutrition/business, and also has worked in healthcare and the hospitality industry.

Burbery will work with PVM director of marketing Kathryn Grandy on the commercial launch of Washington State University’s newest apple variety, the Cosmic Crisp, according to the release.
