The U.S. Department of Agriculture has cited Pros Ranch Markets CA LLC for violations of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act, according to a USDA news release.

The Phoenix-based company failed to pay $1,252,222 to 17 sellers for 286 lots of produce from December 2012 to June 2013, according to the release.

USDA and Pros Ranch Markets have entered into a consent decision.  The company is barred from operating in the produce industry for two years. Pros Ranch Markets will be eligible to reapply for a PACA license May 1, 2017.

Additionally, the company"s principals, Jeffrey Provenzano, Richard Provenzano, Steven Provenzano, Michael Provenzano III, Michael Provenzano Jr. and Pros Ranch Markets CA Holding Inc., may not be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee until May 1, 2016, and then only with the posting of a USDA-approved surety bond.
