Registration is open for the Texas International Produce Association ‘s fifth annual Viva Fresh Produce Expo.
Registration is available online at www.VivaFreshExpo.com for the April 25-27 event at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa in San Antonio, according to a news release.
“This Tex-Mex corridor has grown to become one of the most promising and important regions for fresh produce year-round,” Tony Fisher, director of sourcing for Walmart, said in the release. “Viva Fresh offers a great opportunity to connect, learn and gain an inside perspective on companies that make this region so successful, which is why I look forward to attending every year.”
By 2025, better than half of all U.S. produce imports from Mexico are expected to cross through Texas, according to the release. Fresh produce imports through Texas have doubled since 2007 and now total more than $1 billion, according to the release.
“We’ve been determined to create a more intimate and relaxed trade show experience which is why we have limited the Expo to 168 booths,” Dante Galeazzi, president and CEO of the Texas International Produce Association, said in the release. “The expo has been described by buyers as being ‘more manageable,’ providing access to regional suppliers and growers often not able to exhibit at larger industry expos, thus expanding vendor options.”
Education sessions will cover a wide range of topics and the show will again feature the Gateway to Innovation Awards Showcase, according to the release.
