Ryan Talley, co-owner and farm manager of Talley Farms, Arroyo Grande, Calif., is the new chairman of the board of directors of Western Growers.

Talley’s one-year term began Nov. 11 during the association’s annual meeting, which is Nov. 10-13 in Maui, Hawaii. He succeeds outgoing chairman Ron Ratto, president of Ratto Bros. Inc., according to a news release.

Officers of the board were selected during the board meeting, including Albert Keck of Hadley Date Gardens, senior vice chairman; Stuart Woolf of Woolf Enterprises, vice chairman; Carol Chandler of Chandler Farms, treasurer; and Vic Smith of JV Smith Cos., secretary.

“Western Growers has been a staple organization in the agriculture industry for nearly a century, and Talley Farms is proud to have been a part of its legacy since 1970,” Talley said in the release. “I am both eager and honored to embark on this new role as Western Growers’ chairman of the board of directors, working with the rest of the board to further our commitment to the industry.”
