Sage Fruit Co. is a presenting sponsor of racing legend Tony Stewart’s Kartapalooza event where fans can race head-to-head with Stewart, Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers Kyle Larson and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

The Yakima, Wash.-based grower has supplied consumers with conventional and organic apples, pears, cherries and stone fruit for more than three generations, according to a Sage Fruit news release.

Kartapalooza is Aug. 7, at Slideways Karting Center in Knoxville, Iowa, as part of Sprint Week for the 59th Annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores.

As part of the event, Sage Fruit’s Go-Kart Spectacular returns alongside the Sage Fruit Pie Eating Contest. The Go-Kart Spectacular raises money to directly benefit chronically ill and physically disabled children, animals that are endangered or at-risk, and drivers injured in the sport of motor racing through a grants program that has distributed more than $7.5 million nationally, according to the release.

From July 23 to August 11, Slideways Karting Center will also feature food and drinks using Sage Fruit apples and peaches. A portion of the proceeds go to the Tony Stewart Foundation.

“Their commitment to bettering the lives of those in need is something to be admired, and we’re proud to assist in raising the funds to do so,” Kaci Komstadius, Sage Fruit’s social media and consumer marketing manager, said in the release.
