Just weeks after Schnuck Markets Inc. raised money for Hurricane Florence victims, the retailer is again collecting donations, for Hurricane Michael victims.

The “Round up at the Register” relief efforts lets Schnuck’s customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar at the checkout counter. The funds go to the American Red Cross, according to a news release.

“While we don’t have a store presence in Florida, a natural disaster of this magnitude affects the whole nation,” Dave Peacock, Schnucks president and chief operating officer, said in the release. “As our customers showed after Hurricane Florence and so many other tragic events, they want to help.”

Schnuck Markets and its customers donated about $160,000 to the Red Cross to be used for Hurricane Florence relief.

Schnuck Markets’ customers can donate at the register from Oct. 12-21, according to the release.
