ORLANDO, Fla. - Briefing members of the media Oct. 20, Robert Schueller, director of public relations at Los Angeles, Calif.-based World Variety Produce, covered a wide range of specialty produce trends in a presentation before the second day of the Fresh Summit expo.
Melissa’s brand specialty items highlighted during the presentation were serrano, shishito and Hatch peppers, aloe vera leaves, petite baby bok choy, Muscato grapes, organic ginger, Harry’s Berry’s organic strawberries, organic drinking coconut, and more.
Schueller described the company’s expanded program of yellow dragon fruit from Ecuador, new flavors in its CLEAN SNAX line, its pre-cooked Quinoa pack and the company’s Hollandaise sauce.
Schueller said the top 10 World Variety Melissa’s brand specialty produce items in 2018 are:
- Baby Dutch yellow potatoes;
- Baby red potatoes;
- Steamed lentils;
- Organic ginger;
- Dragon fruit;
- Steamed beets;
- Ruby gold potatoes;
- Red papaya; and
