New York’s fresh produce growers and other industry professionals are invited to join a virtual town hall about the ongoing crisis caused by COVID-19, with U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.

Scheduled for 6-7 p.m. Eastern June 8, the forum will be moderated by Dean Kathryn Boor of Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, according to a news release.

Also joining are Clark Putman, state director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency for New York, and Richard Mayfield, state director of USDA Rural Development for New York.

During the event, they will be taking questions from New York farmers and producers about agriculture and effects of COVID-19.

Participants are “strongly encouraged” to submit a question for Gillibrand and other participants when they RSVP, according to the release.

After registering, participants will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about joining the webinar.
