Limoneira has new video series

Alex Teague, chief operating officer of Limoneira Co., Santa Paula, Calif., said the company has new promotional Tasti Tuesday videos that will demonstate easy citrus tips in five categories: Heath, Recipes, Beauty, Green Cleaning and Nutrition.

“Global opinion leaders in each of the five categories will share their ideas with their audiences and retailers and foodservice operators,” he said.

Teague also said the company plans to have new stand-up pouches and new displays to accompany the South African citrus saeson.

 

Seald Sweet expands packinghouses

Gray Vinson, South African citrus commodity manager for Seald Sweet LLC, Vero Beach, Fla., said the company added bagging machines to the packinghouse and storage facility that it opened last year in Swedesboro, N.J.

Seald Sweet will also now pack and ship from its Lake Wales, Fla., packinghouse, he said.

 

Seven Seas expects 50% more volume than last year

Miles Fraser-Jones, director of global business development for Seven Seas’ New Jersey office, a subsidiary of Tom Lange Cos., said the company expects to have 50% more citrus volume from South Africa than last season.

“We are in a growth phase as a company,” he said.

Fraser-Jones said he joined Seven Seas right before the South African citrus season last year, and that was the first real supplies the company had for buyers.

 

Summer Citrus from South Africa names new chairman

At Summer Citrus from South Africa’s annual planning meeting in March, Boet Mouton succeeded Johan Mouton as chairman of the board for the group.

Suhanra Conradie, CEO of Summer Citrus from South Africa, said South African citrus importers, marketers and growers met for the group’s annual planning meeting, discussing volumes, sales and marketing plans, shipping schedules and category trends.
