Southern Produce Distributors executive plans retirement

Howard Fisackerly is planning to retire from his role of chief operating officer at Southern Produce Distributors Inc. at the end of the year.

Fisackerly joined the sweet potato grower-shipper in 2008, according to a news release. The company plans to announce a successor in the new year.

The popularity of sweet potatoes grew during Fisackerly’s tenure, and he was instrumental in expanding the company’s storage capacity.

His roles at Southern Produce Distributors have included maintenance, curing, labor and farming.

“Howard has served as an integral member of our team,” Kelley Precythe, president and owner, said in the release. “We are thankful for his hard work, dedication and continued support.”
