Wenatchee, Wash.-based Stemilt Growers LLC introduced a new Ultimate cherry line last season, said Brianna Shales, communications manager.

“It features Unitec Cherry Vision electronic sizing and defect sorting technology and has large capacity,” she said.

“The line also features many automation points, including the ability to pack cherries into top seal containers.”

After packing, the cherries make their way to an automated Fresh Cube distribution center, Shales said.

“Both of these investments in automation will serve us well in getting cherries onto trucks efficiently this season,” she said.
