Josh Acuna has joined SunFed’s sales staff in Rio Rico, Ariz., and T.C. Betancourt is new at Sunfed’s Texas facility.
He started his career in the produce industry in late 2001 as a procurement manager at Fresh Express, where he was for six years, followed by a product coordinator role at Chiquita Brands International. Most recently, Acuna was in sales at Ciruli Bros. for 10 years.
Frank Camera, SunFed’s director of sales, said in a news release that Acuna’s retail and commodity experience will help “us to be able to grow in the area we are focusing on as a company.”
Betancourt has been hired to help SunFed build its Texas program in Weslaco, focusing on limes and Texas onions to start. He’s been in the industry for 20 years, according to the release, building a reputation for implementing grower programs in Mexico and south Texas. He has Master’s Degrees in agricultural science and business administration.
“T.C. will be a pivotal part of our growth as he brings us experience that we greatly need,” Camera said in the release.
