Holiday dinners nationwide can get a spike of brightness amid the gray chill when more temperate, sunny areas ship winter citrus.
An ample supply of navel oranges, lemons and satsuma mandarin oranges from Bee Sweet Citrus, Fowler, Calif., has arrived for seasonal promotions to meet consumer demand for winter holidays, director of communications Monique Bienvenue said in a news release.
“Over the next few weeks, buyers can expect a surge in demand for citrus fruits,” Bienvenue said in the release.
Founded in 1987, Bee Sweet Citrus is a grower, packer and shipper in California’s Central Valley, providing more than 15 varieties of citrus.
By mid-December, cara cara oranges, blood oranges and Minneola tangelos are expected to be available, Bienvenue said.
“With healthy food trends on the rise, incorporating citrus into holiday meals is a no-brainer,” Bienvenue said.
