Cincinnati-based Total Quality Logistics is seeing growth in contract business with produce shippers, company leaders said.
“We are seeing nice volume increases in our produce loads,” TQL president Kerry Byrne said in an e-mail.
“We attribute this growth to the increased emphasis we’ve put on building contractual relationships with our produce shippers, while still executing in the spot market, as well as growing our market share in the industry.”
Byrne said the company is focusing on a major expansion at TQL corporate headquarters to accommodate about 600 new employees the company anticipates hiring in sales and IT.
“We have ramped our technology spend, particularly in the areas of automation and visibility,” he said.
TQL was recently recognized as a 2019 Top 100 third-party logistics company by Inbound Logistics magazine.
