Total Quality Logistics, Cincinnati, donated almost $50,000 to the American Cancer Society through its Pinktober fundraising effort in the fight against breast cancer.

The $48,792 raised in October brings the total TQL funds to fight the disease to more than $271,000 since 2010, according to a news release.

The company raised the funds through its Loads for a Cure program, which donated a portion from every load the week of Oct. 15-21, raising about $33,500. Other fundraisers included bake sales, raffles, cookoffs and sales of merchandise at the TQL online store. The company’s Women in Logistics group led 26 TQL offices across the nation in the Making Strides Walks to raise money.

“It’s our honor to raise funds in support of those fighting this terrible disease and in memory of those we’ve lost, especially those in our TQL family,” Gary Carr, vice president of sales at TQL, said in the release. Carr lost his sister, Vicki Baush, a former TQL employee to breast cancer in February 2015.
