Tomra Food’s BBC Technologies, which specializes in packing equipment for small fruit, has a new Tray Tipper, designed to evenly distribute blueberries to a sorting machine.

The Tray Tipper system was designed specifically for the company’s KATO260 sorter to optimize performance, according to a news release. The equipment is designed for berries, gently loading them onto the processing line.

The sorter can process 280 berries a second, handling them with care to protect shelf life and maximize bloom retention, according to the release.

“The Tray Tipper uses speed feedback from the KATO260 to ensure a consistent supply and even distribution of the blueberries onto the sorter, optimizing its throughput,” according to the release.
