The United Fresh Produce Association has chosen the chefs and foodservice professionals to be honored through the United Fresh Produce Excellence in Foodservice Award Program.
The honorees and an executive from their company will be guests at the United Fresh convention June 12 in Chicago, featured on a panel discussion on the expo floor. They’ll receive the awards later that day during the Retail-Foodservice Celebration.
The recipients and categories, according to a news release, are:
Business in Industry: Allan Wambaa, executive chef PCIII, Pacificwild Catering and Oregon Convention Center, Portland, Ore.;
Casual & Family Dining Restaurants: Peter Rosenberg, director of operations support, and Jason Mennie, senior director of Legendary Food, Texas Roadhouse, Louisville, Ky.;
Colleges & Universities: Lesa Holford, corporate executive chef at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio;
Fine Dining Restaurants: Brian Clevenger, owner of General Harvest Restaurants, Seattle;
Hospitals & Healthcare: Jeffrey Quasha, corporate executive R&D chef for Morrison Healthcare, Atlanta;
Hotels & Resorts: Lance Cook, executive chef of the Hammock Dunes Club, Palm Coast, Fla.
K-12 Foodservice: Bertrand Weber, director of culinary & wellness Services for Minneapolis Public Schools, Minneapolis; and
Quick Service Restuarants: Brandon Hudson, corporate chef of Jason’s Deli, Grand Prairie, Texas.
