The United Fresh Produce Association has promoted Amanda Griffin to vice president of education and program management.

Griffin joined United Fresh in the fall of 2013 to support meetings and member programs, according to a news release.

She manages the United Fresh Produce Industry Leadership Program, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Griffin is also the staff liaison to the Produce Leadership Alumni Organization, which offers graduates of the program opportunities to continue “leadership journeys” and give back to the produce industry, according to the release.

“Amanda has proved herself a dedicated leader, creative advocate for enhancing our programs, and committed organizer who sweats the small details while understanding the big picture,” Tom Stenzel, United Fresh president and CEO, said in the release. “All of those positive attributes combine to position Amanda well for taking on even greater leadership of our programs throughout the year.”

Kristen Reid, executive vice president of the MIXTEC Group and chairwoman of the alumni organization, said Griffin’s promotion is well-earned.

“I have been overwhelmed by Amanda’s tireless efforts on behalf of the Produce Industry Leadership Program and the industry at large,” Reid said in the release. “She is a shining example of the leadership our industry needs.”
