(UPDATED COVERAGE, Aug. 11)
Dudaâs board of directors has elected a new chief executive officer.
As part of planned leadership succession, A. Duda & Sons Inc., the Oviedo, Fla.-based corporation that owns Duda Farm Fresh Foods Inc., elected David Duda as its CEO.
Duda, who is scheduled to begin his work as CEO Aug. 30, succeeds Joseph Duda, who is retiring but plans to continue as a consultant to the company.
Since September 2009, David Duda has been Dudaâs president and CEO-designate.
David Duda becomes the first member of the fourth generation of the Duda family to attain the family-owned companyâs top executive position.
The company reviewed internal and external candidates for the position, according to an Aug. 10 news release.
David Duda has worked for Duda since 1988 as chief administrative officer and chief financial officer.
Joseph Duda has served the family owned corporation for 45 years, first heading its cattle division and later as executive vice president and then CEO in 2005.
In the release, F.S. Duda, Dudaâs chairman of the board, said David Dudaâs skills and broad knowledge of the companyâs diversified operations should keep Duda well positioned for future opportunities.
