Foodservice distributors US Foods, Rosemont, Ill., has named Lipman Family Farms, Immokalee, Fla., as its 2019 Supplier of the Year for produce.

Each year, US Foods chooses companies in four categories to highlight their service, reliability and shared commitment to help restaurant operators “make it,” according to a news release. Each category has five nominees.

US Foods called Lipman a “tremendous collaborator.”

“With their strategically located farms, and seamless packing and distribution network, they deliver on their guarantee of being North America’s most dependable source of fresh tomatoes and vegetables,” US Foods said about Lipman in the release.

Suppliers of the year, according to the release, are judged on the following criteria:

  • How efficiently the supplier delivers on innovation, product quality and potential for line expansions and growth;
  • Quality of the business relationship, including service levels, field and seller support and collaboration; and
  • How the supplier exemplifies US Foods’ cultural beliefs and importance of working toward shared goals.

“We are proud to highlight our remarkable partners for their hard work, dedication to excellence and consistency with providing the highest quality products and services,” Andrew Iacobucci, chief merchandising officer for US Foods, said in the release. “The exceptional contributions from these partners are critical to our success and the success of our foodservice operators across the country.”
