Pear Bureau Northwest is all set to celebrate World Pear Day, Dec. 2.

The group will kick off a range of promotional efforts around the globe Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. PST with a Facebook Live post of a pear bungee jump in New Zealand (10 a.m. there), according to a news release.

The group has also organized pop-up pear sampling events for 24 hours of continuous pear sampling in 24 countries including China, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Canada and the U.S., in a bid to break several Guiness World Records, including for the largest distribution of pear samples, according to the release.

Pear Bureau Northwest is also drawing attention to pears on its blog and social media accounts, using #WorldPearDay.

The daylong event in turn kicks off the 13th National Pear Month.
