Two companies have satisfied reparation orders through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act branch.
Utopia Produce Inc., Glendale, N.Y., has met obligations and is free to operate in the produce industry. Li Zhi Wang is the officer, director and major stockholder of the business, according to a news release from the USDA, and may be employed by or affiliated with a PACA licensee.
Golden Kingdom Produce Inc., Los Angeles, has also satisfied a PACA reparation order, according to the USDA. San (Bruce) Oh, who is listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business, can again be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee.
The USDA has cited Penny Tsigaris, doing business as Manavi Produce, Oceanside, N.Y., for failing to pay for $385,000 to three produce sellers. The produce was received February 2015 to January 2016, according to a USDA news release.
Tsigaris dba Manavi cannot operate in the industry until Sept. 24, 2020, and only after they apply for and receive a new PACA license, according to the release. Penny Tsigaris cannot be affiliated with a PACA licensee until Sept. 24, 2019, and only after posting a USDA approved surety bond.
