The U.S. Department of Agriculture is restricting four companies from operating in the produce industry for Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act violations.

The companies, according to a USDA news release, are:

  • Lozamax Distributors LLC, Pharr, Texas, for not paying $92,900 to an Arizona seller. Joaquin Urias, Jorge Gonzales-Pardo, Rodolfo Zambrano-Gonzales, Jorge Luis Linares-Gonzales, Alejandro Rizo and Luis Espinoza-Gonzales were listed as members of the business.
  • Newmarkets Inc., doing business as Back to the Land Natural Foods, Brooklyn, N.Y., for not paying $15,585 to a Pennsylvania company. David A. Basham was listed at the officer, director and major stockholder of the business.
  • La Ganga Produce Corp., Miami, for not paying $12,240 to a Texas seller. As of the issuance date of the reparation order, Rogelio E. Velasquez was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business.
  • La Central Produce LLC, Forest Park, Ga., for not paying $10,496 to a Texas seller. Jose J. Morales was listed as a member of the business.
