The U.S. Department of Agriculture has sanctioned three Los Angeles produce companies that didn’t pay Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act reparation awards.

The following companies and individuals are currently restricted from the industry, according to a news release:

  • Nature Fresh Trading Inc., Los Angeles, for failing to pay a $59,388 award in favor of a Texas seller. Pascual R. Castrellon was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business.
  • Produce Delights LLC, Los Angeles, for failing to pay a $5,292 award in favor of a California seller. Wael R. Abdallah was listed as a member of the business.
  • Jorge Esquivel, doing business as Durangito Produce, Los Angeles, for failing to pay a $2,457 award in favor of a California seller. Jorge Esquivel was listed as the sole proprietor of the business.
