Veg-Fresh Farms, Corona, Calif., has opened a sales office in La Quinta, Calif., to handle an expanding citrus and melon program.

The citrus is packed at five facilities near California and Mexico production areas, according to a news release. Veg-Fresh added Hugo Barajas and Jacob Gracia to head the organic and conventional citrus sales. They have a combined experience of 30 years in the citrus industry.

Melons will be handled through Corona and La Quinta, while managing growth in San Joaquin Valley and Brawley, Calif.

“We had a very successful 2019 with our Good-Life Organic and Del Bosque melon program and will continue to expand in 2020,” Dan Kerrigan, who works in the La Quinta office, said in the release.

“The desert is a key growing area for produce and with a couple of our employees already residing there, it was a natural addition to our California operations” Randy Cancellieri, general partner/owner of Veg-Fresh, said in the release.
