Achievements in packaging design, new product development, food safety and more will be recognized at the Viva Fresh Expo with the new Gateway to Innovation Awards.

Companies exhibiting at Viva Fresh may enter the contest, which will also celebrate advances in machinery, software and technology, according to a news release.

Finalists in each category will be displayed April 5-7 at the expo in San Antonio, and the Best in Show award will be announced during the event.

This has also resulted in the continued development of some of the country’s most innovative fruit and vegetable products and tools.”

Applications are due by Jan. 30, and entires can be submitted at Finalists and winners will be notified by March 8.
