Viva Tierra Organic, Mount Vernon, Wash., will be shipping new crop apples and pears from California in July.

The company is promoting fresh-from-the-orchard summer flavors with volume for wholesalers and retailers. The California crop is on track with typical sizes peaking on 80s and smaller for tray pack and bag promotion opportunities according to a news release.

The company sources from growers in California’s Central Valley and Sacramento Delta region, Roy Ruff, California regional marketing lead, said in the release.

“Our brand-new eye-catching, high-quality two- and three-pound pouches make merchandising a breeze and also tell the story of our commitment to organic,” Ruff said in the release. “More and more, shoppers want to know where their food comes from.”

The company sources from Washington, California and South America to be able to ship year-round.

“Our three-region program enables us to minimize our use of controlled atmosphere storage to a very short window between the end of fall in Washington and the start-up of the spring crop in South America,” Chris Ford, business development and marketing manager, said in the release.
