The Washington Apple Commission, Wenatchee, has elected new leadership.

Michael Roche, fourth-generation owner of Roche Fruit, Yakima, is the group’s new chairman. He is joined by vice chairman David Douglas, co-president of family owned and operated Douglas Fruit, Pasco.

Cass Gebbers, outgoing chairman, was thanked for his leadership over the past two years on the apple commission’s executive committee, according to a news release.

Commissioners Frank Davis, Jim Thomas, Douglas, Gebbers and Bob Mast were re-elected for three-year terms. The board changes were made at the Washington Apple Commission’s March 23 board meeting, according to the release.
