What is being called an agricultural water summit is set for Feb. 27-28.

The Produce Safety Alliance is limiting attendance to about 100 at the event at the Radisson Hotel in Covington, Ky.

The Food and Drug Administration received feedback from numerous stakeholders raising concerns that some standards on agricultural water testing in the  Food Safety Modernization Act may be too complex to understand and difficult to implement, according to a notice from the alliance.

“In response to these concerns, FDA is considering how to address these issues by exploring ways to simplify the produce safety rule standards related to agricultural water,” the notice said.

FDA officials will be in attendance at the meeting, according to the notice.
The two-day water summit includes presentations and breakout discussions, according to the notice.

Registration and information about remote participation will be available sometime in January, according to the notice.
