Well-Pict Berries, Watsonville, Calif., will celebrate its 50th anniversary at the Southeast Produce Council’s 20th annual Southern Exposure Convention and Expo March 7-9 in Orlando.
The company plans to showcase its year-round berry program, at booth No. 121, according to a news release.
“March is looking to be a fantastic month to sell and promote our strawberries,” Well-Pict marketing director Jim Grabowski said in the release. “We are seeing good supply out of Florida thanks to warmer temperatures, and California strawberries are now getting a break after a bout of wet weather. We’re expecting a steady increase in supply this month.”
As far as the now year-round raspberry supply, Grabowski said the company is starting off with smaller amounts of raspberries from central Mexico and Oxnard. The main crop of raspberries from Watsonville should be ramping up for a mid-May through November season, he said in the release.
Well-Pict’s organic strawberries are available May to November.
