West Pak Avocado, Murrieta, Calif., plans to promote its bagged avocado program and the brands that differentiates the company in the industry at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit.

Joe Nava, recently hired as West Pak’s vice president of sales & business development, will be among the company’s representatives at Fresh Summit expo Oct. 18-19 in Anaheim, Calif., at booth No. 1577.

Nava said in a news release that he looks forward to the opportunity to meet with customers at the company’s new expo booth.

"I'm also looking forward to chatting about our bagged avocados program, which is different from anybody else in the industry,” he said in the release. “I love the creativity with the I Love Avocados (brand), Viva Avocados, California Gold, and Lil' Cados, plus the value that the heart-healthy mark on the bags brings to the table — it's enormous and is of great value to our retailers.”

West Pak has taken steps to keep up with the demand for avocados through investments in other countries and other measures, according to the release. Although Mexico is the lead avocado supplier to the U.S., West Pak imports from Peru and Chile, and is looking at other countries as demand rises.
