Looking to learn more about sustainable practices throughout the fresh produce supply chain? Register now to hear from industry leaders at The Packer's Sustainable Produce Summit, a free virtual event Sept. 22-24.

Lori Taylor, Kevin Byers and Brent Kawamura will discuss the consumer demand for sustainability in a panel conversation Sept. 24 at the Sustainable Produce Summit.

Taylor, founder of The Produce Moms, will speak about what she hears from the large audience of parents that her brand reaches. Byers, senior produce merchandiser for PCC Community Markets, and Kawamura, senior sustainability specialist for PCC, will cover the feedback their company receives from its customers in the Pacific Northwest.

One topic on which the panel will focus is the lack of a definition for sustainability and how that plays into people being able to follow through with purchasing the more sustainable products that they say they want.

The group will discuss how the produce industry is communicating currently about its work in the sustainability arena and how it could communicate about those efforts better in the future. The panelists also will consider how the industry could provide consumers more clarity about what sustainability means when it comes to produce.

The panel takes place at 11 a.m. CST Sept. 24 at the Sustainable Produce Summit.
