Nogales, Ariz.-based Wilson Produce is boosting its offerings, refreshing its branding and adding more customer resources.
The fourth-generation family company plans to increase production of mini sweet peppers, cucumbers and squash, according to a news release, and add colored bell peppers, mini cucumbers, green beans and shishito peppers. The company also plans to boost organic volume.
“We’re seeing that consumers care about the way that their food is grown and we’re taking that seriously,” Alicia Bon Martin, CEO, said in the release.
“We have placed a priority on our organic program and we’re going to expand and take it even further using regenerative agricultural practices that are especially important in protected agriculture where we have a limited amount of space and crops available for rotation.”
General manager Guillermo Martinez said in the release that the company plans to roll out new packaging and a refreshed website.
New resources will include retail tools for buyers such as category management and seasonal promotion tips, according to the release.
Wilson Produce also plans a consumer-focused campaign on the theme of “Truth be Grown.”
