Specialty produce sales for Los Angeles-based Melissa’s World Variety Produce are growing strong, said Robert Schueller, marketing manager for the company.

During the sales period of June 2018 to May 2019, Schueller reported sales for the company’s products, compared with the same time a year ago, were:
> Jackfruit, up 31%;
> Turmeric, up 34%;
> Dragon fruit, up 16%;
> Passion fruit, up 21%;
> Red papaya, up 15%;
> Sweet young coconut, up 14%;
> Organic ginger, up 27%;
> Shishito peppers, up 27%;
> Watermelon radish, up 24%;
> Pixie tangerines (March-June), up 17%; 
> Muscato grapes (June-September), up 14%; and
> Hatch chiles (August-September), up 18%.
