Los Angeles-based World Variety Produce has recalled its 7-ounce Spicy Edamame because the included sauce packet contains the undeclared allergen Oyster Extract.

Products affected by the recall were distributed in Arizona, California, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas, according to a notice posted on the Food and Drug Administration website.

Best Used By dates on the products ranged from May 29 through July 2. The unit product code is 0-45255-14637-0.

The recall is the result of the wrong sauce packet being included in the Spicy Edamame product, according to the notice.

World Variety Produce markets under the Melissa’s brand, and the product is packaged in a cardboard sleeve.

No illnesses have been reported.
